The project has organized the Consultation for the draft of policy for scrap metal sound management with the main content consists of

1. Drafting of legal and administrative measures necessary to promote BAT/BEP applications in metal recycling facilities as criteria for new facilities, requirement for staff to be trained about U-POPs and BAT/BEP in metal recycling facilities, etc. to reduce or eliminate releases from unintentional production.

2. Recommended values for national dioxin emission standards for metal recycling facilities and define procedure for enforcement.

3. Drafting the economic incentives for private sector to improve their operations by BAT/BEP application to reduce or eliminate releases of U-POPs.

This is the findings from the study analysis by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) as project consultant for Component 1 on 20-21 July 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Knowledge Dissemination and Service Center room, 1st floor, Department of Primary Industries and Mining (DPIM) and through the Zoom Meeting system, with 162 representatives from relevant agencies participating for the consultation
