Free Online Training Regarding to U-POPs Management in Scrap Metal Industry

During 25-27 January 2021, UNIDO in collaboration with the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) organized the training programmes for regulatory authorities, professionals and research institutions via Zoom program. The training Modules IV : Management of U-POPs in Scrap Metal Industry consisted of;

1. Overview of scrap metal industry and its environmental impacts

2. BAT/BEP for secondary metallurgical industry

3. Case studies of best practices in Thailand and other countries

Many representatives from various agencies both from the private and public sectors participated in the training as follow:

- Department of Industrial Works

- Provincial Waterworks Authority

- Pollution Control Department

- King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi

- Bureau of Occupational and Environmental Diseases, Department of Disease Control of Thailand

- Environmental Faculty of Kasetsart University

- Office of Waste and Sewage Management, Environment Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

- Faculty of Science and Industrial Technology, Songkhla Nakarin University, Suratthani Campus

- National Institute of Health of Thailand, Department of Medical Sciences

-National Institute of Health of Thailand, Department of Medical Sciences

- Environmental Sanitation Office, Bangkok Health Department

-Environmental Research and Training Center, Department of Environmental Quality Promotion

-Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin and etc.

In addition to this training, the project will organize training "Module V : Technical Sampling and Analysis of U-POPs" for regulatory authorities, professionals and research institutions via Zoom program during 9-11 February 2021.
